Add the diced tomatoes, cook for a couple of minutes, and immediately add the tomato paste, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Stir while cooking for about three more minutes.
Add the chicken broth, and turn the heat to high until the soup is bubbly.
Add the tortellini to cook in the sauce. Keep the temperature on high for about seven to ten minutes until the tortellini are cooked through.
Lower the temperature of the stove to medium heat, add the cream cheese and the chopped basil leaves. Stir with a spoon to prevent the tortellini from sticking to the bottom of the pot. When the cream cheese has melted and is fully incorporated into the mixture, turn off the stove and serve.
